Adel Sharif (Al-Hussaini): B.Eng (Baghdad); M.Sc; PhD (Swansea).
Adel Sharif is a Professor of Water Engineering and process Innovation at the University of Surrey and Director of the Centre for Osmosis Research and Application (CORA). He is the founder of Modern Water plc, which is specialised in deploying desalination and water treatment technologies. Adel is the winner of the 2008 first pan-European Academic Enterprise Award and the 2005 Royal Society Brain Mercer Senior Award for Innovation in Science and Technology. He was also the winner of the 2007 Muslim News Award for Excellence-in Engineering, Science and Technology. He has also been awarded the British-Iraqi Friendship Society prize and the Al-Kindi for Engineers Society award. He has over 60 publications and is an inventor and co-inventor of 12 patents.

Ali Hadawi  CBE CMgr FCMI FRSA
Ali is the Principal and Chief Executive of Central Bedfordshire College (CBC).He was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in January 2011 for his services to the Further and Technical Education sector in the UK and in Iraq. Previously, Ali was the Principal of Southend Adult Community College (SACC) from 2006 to December 2010.   Ali’s leadership was recognised by OFSTED when SACC was judged to have outstanding leadership and management. At CBC, Ali’s work has also been recognised by OFSTED and judged the College to be good with exemplary leadership, the best ever outcome for this College. Under Ali’s leadership the College has been successful in attracting c£25m of capital investment to redevelop its Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard campuses. Ali is the skills and employability lead for the South East Midland Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) (www.semlep.co.uk) in the UK. Through this role, Ali works across the SEM geography with businesses and local government to help close the skills gap to enable greater business productivity and wealth creation. Ali is a founding member and the Vice Chairman of “Rawabit Steering Group”.  Rawabit is a UK-Iraq strategic partnership that has been engaging with the Iraqi Vocational and the Higher Education sector since 2004. Over 600 Iraqi technical leaders and senior managers have benefited from this initiative. Ali is a founding trustee of the Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform (IIER) which is an independent research institute based in the UK and Baghdad/Iraq.  Its mission is to assist Iraq in its transition to a modern market economy by promoting reform based on evidence based research. Ali is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a chartered manager and a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Inspirational leadership and management in the further education and skills sector.  Ali is a member of the National Principal’s Champions group that advises the UK minister for Innovation, Universities and Skills, on community cohesion and preventing violent extremism.  The champion group is made up of nine principals from across the UK.  Ali also serves as an OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) associate inspector.  Ali is the Vice Chairman of “Rawabit Steering Group”,  Rawabit is a UK-Iraq strategic partnership that has been engaging with the Iraqi Vocational and Technical Education sector since early 2004.  The focus of the work is capacity building within the sector in Iraq to help it meet the challenges of the new Iraq.

Dr. Faik Abdul Rasoul, Former Deputy Minister of Planning CV
He Born in Baghdad and graduated from the university and earned a master's degree and doctorate in economics from the University of Msgiost 1970. Took many tasks throughout the long actual service increased to forty years, including at the central bank as a researcher to the Director General of Research and member of the Board of Directors of the bank and the Governor acting for 28 years, and in the Cabinet as head of the Arab Organization and International Organizations of the Committee for Foreign Economic Relations and an adviser to the prime minister and head of the Department economic, and in the Ministry of Finance as an agent of the Ministry of Finance's oldest head of the Iraqi Foreign Fund for Development, and after 2003 in the Ministry of Planning as a consultant and agent oldest of the Ministry. Dozens of his research, reports and studies published and unpublished, and has contributed significantly to the management of the Iraqi economy during the period of his service in the state.

Kamal Field Al-Basri BSc. Economics 1976 & Ph.D Economics 1985
Dr. Kamal Al-Basri has occupied several academic positions with a number of British Universities. Subsequently, he has worked for a number of international financial institutions: GE Capital, Barclays and Lloyds Bank. In 2003, he moved to Iraq and served as Deputy Minister of Finance and as an Economic Advisor to the PM.  He has experience in making strategic decision in banking reform, public subsides and privatization. He has worked with international organizations such the IMF and World Bank, DFID and with other non-governmental institutions, including IRI, USIP, CIPE, and CATO.  Dr. Kamal has also contributed to major international economic literatures and written several policy papers. His achievements include: Contributing to the policy design and implementation of economic reform in Iraq.  Launching and founding the Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform, the first think tank in Iraq;  Drafting several policy papers on the economic and financial situation of Iraq; Providing training to members of  the Iraqi parliament and senior members of Iraqi government on strategic economic needs and simulation exercises. Developed analytical solutions to identify business opportunities  for financial institutions and high-street retailers. Provided evidence (using random control trial data) that universal screening for prevention of coronary heart disease is not cost effective, whereas targeting those with high blood pressure and history of coronary diseases is (British Medical Journal 1995); Establishing that merger activities of British Building Societies cannot be explained in terms of improving economic efficiency, but rather by managerial objectives (Journal of Applied Economics 1991); Providing evidence on the economic inefficiency of British universities (Journal of Higher Education 2003); Undertaking a cost-benefit analysis on the impact of road pricing in London on road congestion; Developing an econometric model to explain the variation in unemployment across regions and over time in the UK. Dr. Al-Basri spends his free time keeping up to date with the latest on global economic and political affairs and writing policy reform papers on Iraq.

Manaf Al-Saigh
Mr. Manaf Al Sayegh has held several positions, including Director of the Department of Administration stocks and interests of the shareholders in the Iraqi Company for seed production, as well as the director of an investment company (Rosar Financial Advisors and feasibility studies) Consulting financial and economic feasibility studies in the United Arab Emirates, as well as the investment manager in AL-AMEEN company of the Financial Investment in Iraq, as well as participating in establishment of a Baghdad Stock Exchange and participated in put of trading of the stocks of instructions governing the work intermediaries in Baghdad Stock , he served as an economic advisor to the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in 2005 until mid-2011 and now serves as adviser to public policy of the state in the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers and the President of Policy Coordination Group of the State also introduced many economic studies, including a study submitted to the Prime Minister explaining the reasons for "the low level of implementation of the projects in the provinces," explaining where the problems that hinder the implementation at the level of technical and administrative, legal and human capabilities and capacity, and feet Action Plan to the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs for the purpose of "revitalization of the market economy in the provinces" and to develop their capacity to create material returns and create jobs and abundance through the revitalization of financial investment and housing projects and the development of local capacities .

Dr Mudher M. Salih Kasim
Has a Ph.D. in economics from University of Wales Aberystwyth (1989, United Kingdom). His business career includes the following positions: Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and Board of Directors Member; Member in the Paris Club Consultation Iraqi Government Group for Foreign Debt Settlement; Head of the technical team of the Central Bank of Iraq with IMF for EPCA & SBA; Consultant in the Iraqi Economic Journal (Al Mustansireya University-Baghdad) and Economic Journal of Bait Al Hikma, Baghdad; and Lecturer in monetary economics for postgraduate students. He has supervised thesis in financial economics at Baghdad University for several years, and published several articles and researches in monetary and financial economics. He was a member of Iraqi delegation to the donors' meetings for Iraq (October 2003); attended the annual meetings of W/B & IMF several times; and attended within the Iraqi delegation the Foreign Ministers Conference to support Iraq - Brussels 2005. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Trade Bank of Iraq, 2004-06; former Director General of Economic Department in the Iraqi Cabinet; and Research Economist at Central bank of Iraq, since 1976.

Munqith AlBaker (B. Eng. UOB Baghdad, M.Sc. UOK EE United Kingdom)
Independent Consultant working in business development (2015). He served as adviser to the minister of Industry and Minerals (2004-2014).  He was assigned the domains of business development, restructuring, SOE reforms and institutional development. He worked with international organizations:  McKinsey & Company, USAID, UNIDO, UNDP, Grant Thornton, OECD, DFID and WB to affect transformation in the Ministry. He participated in the design of a number of strategies, lead efforts of writing the Ministry law and internal structure of the H.Qs and assigned vice chairman of Committees on cooperation with Iraq-Russia, -China and –Belarus. Founder and CEO of a state company and a center specializing in High Tech fields of systems engineering and chairman of board of directors (1991-2004). He adopted collaboration with universities and use of research innovations into products. He lectured at the electrical and control engineering departments of universities of Baghdad and Technology and supervised more than forty postgraduate projects. He was designer and implementer of real-time systems for experimental research applications (1972-1991). He was a member of two Work Groups at EPCS- Experimental Physics Control Systems (1987-1990) affiliated EPS- European Physical Society (Switzerland).

Professor Alshawi is a Professor of Management and IT in Construction and the Director of Unisearch Ltd (UK) and IEC (UAE). He is also the Director of the Institute of Sustainability and BIM (UAE). He has an extensive experience in introducing new technologies to improve business performance of organisations, particularly construction organisations. He was an Associate Dean (International) at the College of Science and Technology, the University of Salford (UK)  and before that he was the Director of Build and Human Environment Research Institute (the number one Institute in the UK Built Environment sector). He holds many international advisory posts in various countries and a consultant on a number of projects for the World Bank, UN Agencies and OECD.  He is also the Editor in Chief of the international journal of “Construction Innovation: Information, Process, Management”, published by “Emerald”, and the author of over a hundred publications in fields such as IT and process improvement, project managmnet, Building Information modelling and business process re-engineering. He has published a book to provide a holistic view on the readiness of organisations to successfully embrace IT into their work practices. The title of the book is “Rethinking IT in Construction and Engineering: Organisational Readiness”. Professor Alshawi is the founder of five innovative postgraduate courses, in IT and Construction Management, ranging from PG Diploma, MSc, Master of Research and PhD (without residence). He has managed a number of large research projects over his research career. His leading work in management of information in collaborative environments, integrated databases in construction and computer integration are internationally known.
